We were asked to look at building a web based software solution for a specialist travel agent that provided bepoke holidays in Africa.
They were using Word, Excel and Access to manage the business processes and a web based CRM to manage contacts.
None of the applications spoke to each other very well so data had to be rekeyed between different applications.
Users had to paste content from different Word documents and calculate costs in another program.
With a number of different users in the office it was becoming difficult to give a consistant look and feel to the itineraries.
Our solution was to provide a fully based based solution which included:
When the itinerary is accepted it is converted to a booking and the payment side is handled by the system. Booking forms, Invoices and ATOL receipts are automatically created.
Now that the system is web based staff could work not only from different offices but from different countries too. The company were easily able to set up an extra offfice in southern Africa with all users sharing the same data.
