Calibration Lab Work Management System

Our client, which is now part of a multinational company providing inspection, verification, testing and certification services, first approached us when we started trading in 2006.  They had a number of disparate systems which they were quickly growing out of. 

Key problems included:

  • Incompatibility between existing systems resulting in re-keying data between applications.
  • Many work functions not covered by existing applications.
  • Software updates on client machines was dificult so increasing maintenance costs
  • Expensive licensing costs of existing applications preventing expansion.
  • Data spread between systems, network storage and paper based systems.

We worked with our client to analyse their requirements and produce a specification which would give them an integrated solution which would operate both locally and externally. 

They needed a single solution to control their workflow from storing customer and supplier contact details through to controlling items coming through their lab to invoicing and storing certificates.

Centralise all data and provide a single, secure application which would be web-based running through a web browser.

Their customers needed a secure portal so they could login and view certificates, view the progress of items in the lab and book items to be collected for calibration.
